The containerization is the mode of modernization transport which appeared in the 50's ,is the inevitable trend in modernized shipping industry development, and it develops very quickly. Along with the trade development, enhancement of the containerization rate of the single unit grocery and the partial bulk cargo, the container transported goods volume continuously presents the situation which grows continually. Container shipping has become the best means of transportation in the international economy and trade, it is a main symbol of transport modernization and get fast development worldwide because of its advantages in speediness and security, high quality and low charge.Stowage is one of key courses in the operation of cargo transportation at sea. Stowage plan is closely related with the safety and efficiency of shipping. A major objective of shipping business is to make a reasonable stowage plan to ensure ship safety, reduce transportation cost, improve efficiency and enhance competition of container transportation. To work out the stowage plan for container ships, especially for large container ships is a very complicated kind of work. It requires much data processing, high precision of calculation, much concerning of restrictions and high efficiency Because now the capacity of the container ship and the scale increase unceasingly, it causes the computer to be common gradually on loading application. However the containership stowage problem is the combinatorial optimization problem which involves many kinds of constraint condition. Therefore with the rapid increase of the number of container ship carrying and ports ship calling, the question scale can become extremely huge and it also become more and more difficult to resolve. Under this background, the author discusses the intelligent method of container ship stowage and finally the example is confirmed through a container ship stowage system prototype developed by the author.There are 6 chapters in this thesis: background of the selected topic is narrated in the first chapter; second chapter mainly explain the procedure of container ship stowage and some principles; in the third chapter, some mathematical model in calculating of ship's performance is listed; the fourth chapter for this article is the key point, in it intelligent method of container ship stowage is elaborated in detail; in the fifth chapter, the design process of stowage system developed by the author and main function of the system is introduced; the sixth chapter is a summary , in allusion to development direction of container ship stowage in future the author proposes his own opinion.
