Greenland of residential areas is the important part of urban space, and the main links of improving the urban eco-environment. with the improvement of people's living standard, the greening of residential area is laid emphasis on gradually. At present, research on residential area is mainly focused on the aspects, such as designing plant scenery, planting disposition, planting structure and ecological benefit, etc. There occurs a new upsurge in the synthetic research on the landscape and ecological benefit in the residential greenland.On the basic of investigations of the present afforestation situation in the six different grade residential areas by taking of samples, the different greening patterns of the different greenlands are evaluated. And then community structures, landscape benefit and green quantity are evaluated. So the differences of the different greenlands in the different residential areas in landscape benefit and ecological benefit are compared. Greening patterns of the different greenlands in six residential areas are analysed and assessed.And the better greening pattern is summaried to support more scientific reference for planning and designs in the residential green space of Chongqing, and it's construction and management. The main result is as follows:1. Investigation shows that the species in the residential green space of Chongqing is relatively high, Which includes 129 species, 58families, 52 trees occupying 40% of all species, 40 shrubberies occupying 31% of all species,26 ground cover plants occupying 20% of all species.Frequencies of all species is ver different,which is larger on middle and smaller on two sides.Frequencies of 21 species is 80%,but frequencies of 12 species is 20%.2. A modified plant landscape evaluation method named "AHP" model was used to assess greening patterns of six residential areas. Assessment results show that: The six residential areas according marks from higher to lower are Olympic ecological garden, XiangZhangLin, ShuiTianHuaYuan, JingYuan, Nan Yuan, QiLongShanZhuang. General mark for Olympic ecological garden and XiangzhangLin is between 7.0 and 8.0, for ShuiTianHuaYuan, JingYuan and Nan Yuan, between 6.5 and 7.0, while QiLongShanZhuang, below 6.5. Therefore, plant landscape for them is "good","moderate","bad", each. Assessment is basically reducing from higher to lower according to the high, middle and low level.3. Three kinds of residential greenlands ranked according the average mark from higher to lower is public greening of residential areas , building-side greening, roadside greening of residential areas.General mark for public greening is between 6.5 and 8.0. The residential area according to marks for public greening from higher to lower is ShuiTianHuaYuan, Olympic ecological garden, XiangZhangLin, Nan Yuan, QiLongShanZhuang, Jing Yuan.General mark for public greening is between 6.5 and 7.0. The residential area for building-side greening from higher to lower is Olympic ecological garden, XiangZhangLin, JingYuan, ShuiTianHuaYuan, Nan Yuan, QiLongShanZhuang.General mark for public greening is between 6.0 and 6.5. The residential area according to marks for roadside greening from higher to lower is Olympic ecological garden, XiangZhangLin, JingYuan, ShuiTianHuaYuan, QiLongShanZhuang, Nan Yuan.4. Green quantity is calculated by the method that plane quantity simulates three-dimensional quantity. The six residential areas according general average marks of green quantity from higher to lower are XiangZhangLin, Olympic ecological garden, NanYuan, ShuiTianHuaYuan, JingYuan, QiLongShanZhuang.For one kind of Greenland, the six residential areas according general average marks of green quantity from higher to lower are XiangZhangLin, Olympic ecological garden, JingYuan, Nan Yuan, QiLongShanZhuang, ShuiTianHuaYuan. for side-greening , XiangZhangLin, Olympic ecological garden, JingYuan, NanYuan, QiLongShanZhuang, ShuiTianHuaYuan;for roadside greening , XiangZhangLin, Olympic ecological garden, JingYuan, NanYuan, ShuiTianHuaYuan, QiLongShanZhuang. The main cause difference lies in plant species, planting Structure. When the multiple layer community structure, rich species and a plenty of trees exist, green quantity is higher.5. By comparison and analyses of the different greening patterns of the different greenlands that it's landscape and ecological benefit are higher, proportion of life form and community structures are analysed. In public greening, Suitable proportion of life form for tree is 1~1.5: 1 for species, 1.5~1.7: 1 for plant quantity, while the proportion for shrubbery is above 2:1 for species, 14:1 for plant quantity. In building-side greening Suitable proportion of life form for tree is 1: 1~1.2 for species, 4.5: 1~6.8 for quantity .while it for shrubbery is above 8:1 for species, 5:1 for quantity. In roadside greening Suitable proportion of life form for tree is 1:1~2 for species, 1:1~1.5. for quantity .In the three kinds of greenlands suitable proportion of life form between tree and shrubbery each is 1.1: 1~1.7 for species and 1: 3~4.8 for shrubbery, 1.4: 1~2.1 for species and 1:2~3.4 for shrubbery, 1:1.4~2 for species and 1:2.4~9 for shrubbery.
