Steel-Encased Concrete is a new type structure, in which the steel and the concrete are integrated by connectors to take advantage of the respective properties of tension and compression. Guangzhou Liede Bridge is a long span bridge in the plan of Xinguang Express Road. The highlight is particular design of the bridge tower. One of the design plans is the bridge tower is steel-encased concrete structure. Based on slip effect of the stud shear connectors, this thesis researches on 3-D finite element models of the steel-encased concrete tower based on nonlinear analysis by software ANSYS, though computer simulation, the load-deflections relations and the ultimate load capacities were researched on the composite structure. As a result, the results can offer a theoretical aid on mechanic characteristics of the concrete and steel.Firstly, the mechanics characteristics of the steel-concrete composite structure has been introduced. Then actualities of the steel-concrete composite structure has been reviewed. Based on those theories, we put forward the key method and content of this thesis .Secondly, the complete process has been analysed for the steel-encased concrete tower with the stud shear connectors in the thesis. The crack along with the load development situation, relationship between displacement and load, relationship between slip and load have been discussed. By changing steel plate thickness, the stud shear connectors arrangement, and the steel-concrete tower structure is contrasted to the plain concrete structure to explore the character of steel-concrete tower structure.Finally, the complete process has been analysed for the steel-encased concrete tower with the Perfobond Strip in the thesis. The crack along with the load development situation, relationship between displacement and load, relationship between slip and load have been discussed. By changing the Perfobond Strip aperture, Hole spacing to explore the factors of the character of steel-concrete tower structure.Through analyzing mechanical characteristics of Guangzhou Liede bridge steel-concrete tower structure obtain some significant conclusions. For example: the steel-encased concrete structure than the plain concrete structure with greater ultimate load capacity, higher resistance to deformation and better ductility, etc. These conclusions had some contributions for design and check of steel-concrete tower structure.
