For the pace of the urban construction being rapidly, the conflicts between land-use and urban transportation become acute. It can be affected for neighboring road network by the building of a new project or rebuilding of an old structure. Aiming at the puzzle in urban construction in our country, it brought in an advanced method, which named Traffic Impact Analysis ( for short: TIA )from foreign country at the end of the last century. We have established the system of TIA that suit for the situation of our country, and put it in practice in recent years. Obviously, it is effective for mitigating the conflicts between land-use and urban transportation by applying the TIA in large city.In this text, it firstly expatiated the existing system and method of TIA in our country. And then, based on the reviewing, summarizing and analyzing of the TIA in Beijing recently years, it pointed out the insufficiency from the TIA, and put forward gropingly a new method, which named regional Traffic Impact Analysis ( for short: R-TIA ) at the same time. At last, it selected an area in Xuanwu district in Beijing as our study area. The establishment of the traffic demand forecasting models is to certificate the research results, supporting the feasibility for the study of R-TIA.
