The multi-function track-beam production line in iron and steel enterprise has the characteristics of complicated process and equipment, diversity of product types, accordance of production simulatin and strictly matched production rhythm. It is difficult to arrange production plan, debug new product processing and optimize the production process. Traditional production analyzing methods has the difficulties in analyzing the whole production process, and what's more, it's hard to realize the whole optimization in both time and cost. Simulation can greatly shorten system research and development cycle, find out the problems in production, and save development cost, therefore provide an efficient way to solve above management problem.In this thesis, In order to shorten new product lead time, diagnose the bottlenecks of production line, improve equipment efficiency of multi-function track beam production line, the characteristics of multi-function track beam production line, which is different from the traditional discrete or process manufacturing production line, are analyzed. The multi-function railway production line is systematically simulated, for sake of realizing organization optimization, find out bottlenecks, predict processs capacity, improve equipment efficiency, and finally improve the capacity of the whole line.Firstly, the production line has been investigated in such aspects: equipment parameters, product parameters and production flow. Then, the conception of half-flow and half-discretion characteristics has been presented, and input data of simulation model has been abstracted based on these real production data..Secondly, based on petri net sticked with restrain arc, and object-oriented technology, the models of equipments in both track-beam production line and profile bar production line are set up Then, the product processing model is developed by abstracting product data from real production line.Thirdly, Based on characteristics research, the Petri network model of multi-function track-beam production line is constructed, and then multi-function track beam production line simulation system is developed. dynamical running of the simulation model is realized by applying parameter dynamic simulation technology, mathematics statistics and numerical analysis, and visual reality technology. The production line's production capacity and key equipment's workload rate are analyzed during the running process.Finally, the bottleneck of the production line is diagnosed by simulation. The final production process optimization scheme is worked out after several optimization simulations by comparing the optimized model with the former model at the aspects of production capacity and key equipment's workload rate.The application practice of the simulation study in an iron and steel enterprise shows, that the modeling and simulation of the multi-function production line can analyze the production capacity and equipments'workload, diagnose the bottlenecks of the line, and optimize the production running and scheduling process. the validity and practicability of simulation system are well verified by a case study.
