Combined power plant has been the main development trend of large warship power plant of the countries in the world in the future because of its advantages such as various assemblage forms and outstanding economy. The combined gas turbine and gas turbine (COGAG) power plant has being favored more and more by the navies of various countries, because it has its own unique advantages such as good mobility and small size per unit weight. But our country just start the research in this important field, so the simulation research on the COGAG power plant has great significance to the development of the marine power plant of our country. This paper analyzed the main disposition form of COGAG propulsion system, one's own characteristic and the application in marine propulsion system, and designed the COGAG laboratory bench preliminarily. The mathematical model and simulation model of the whole COGAG propulsion system were built up with block method. We made use of the models to simulate the prime motor's steady and dynamic performance and the course of combination, breakaway and switching of two motors in the same type. We got the change rule of the two gas turbine's rotational speed, torsion and the middle part's displacement of the clutch on the end of the gas turbine which merged in or relieved under various operational modes and carried on preliminary research on the control scheme and control parameter of COGAG power plant. The treatment to part characteristic curves of gas turbine is a key while built up the simulation model of gas turbine, the part characteristic curves of gas turbine were fitted in this paper with coefficient fitting method and neural network fitting method separately. It has reached the satisfactory fitting precision.
