Automobile vacuum booster, a part of automobile brake system, is used widely as an assistor device in light-car and sedan. Always, it is focus on study of automobile brake system, which is of vital important for their security of driver and passengers.The design and production of vacuum booster, like other industrial products of china, used to reference design of peers of some advanced countries. It is called as reverse engineering. Though vacuum boosters designed and produced by china exist for more than twenty years, it is still dissatisfactory for us of the quality and the assembly efficiency of those products.In the thesis, these will be finished to illuminate the working principle of vacuum booster, to deduce the formulas of some important performance parameters, to propose the analysis way to characteristic curve, to study on the return velocity when a vacuum booster is unloaded, to argue the air-proof inspection criterion of vacuum booster. Speaking especially, all of datum and characteristic curves in the thesis are obtained by on-the-spot experiments in factories.Of all information resources in the field of automobile brake system of china, the highly valuable literatures and papers on the famous periodicals of vehicle are rare. My study on vacuum booster aims to write a systemic detailed academic paper on design and development of vacuum booster for engineers in factories and researchers in institutions, to supply some useful information, based on theory and practice.
