Power Line Communication refers to the technology which using the Power Line as the media for transmitting data and information. As the Power Line Communication doesn't need to reset a new net, so it has been paid attention to the intelligent house net work and the access to the internet. But the difference between Power Line and normal net is so obvious that it is necessary to set up a model for the Power Line Communication channel. Meanwhile, the Power Line Communication channel has some traits which cause a lot of deficiency in the communication. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing is a good method to overcome the Power Line channel deficiency because of the merits as good use of the frequency band, flexible band division, modulate of each carrier individually and easy to realize. The text introduced the concept of Power Line Communication first then contracted it with the tradition way. By the measure of the noise characteristic, impedance characteristic and decline characteristic, a model of the Power Line Communication channel has been set up. Then a method of realizing the OFDM system which can use the output of IFFT as the signal on the Power Line was given. With the parameter of the channel the system of the OFDM has been simulated by the software MATLAB. Finally, chose the RS-Convolution code for the OFDM system by contrasting of each code. The simulation of transmitting voice and image data of the OFDM system was given by the MATLAB.The result of the simulation shows that using the OFDM technology and the RS-Convolution code in the Power Line Communication can mitigate the effects of hostile channels efficiently. With the same error rate, it can obtain a code gain of 4~7dB then have the efficient and reliable transmission.
