Power Line Communication(PLC)is a communication method based on power line system,utilizing the existing existing power-supply network as a novel propagation medium.PLC enjoys the advantage of low implementation cost since there is no need for extra installation or maintenance,providing an economical,robust and high-speed communication.It is of great significance to study PLC technology,for contributing to the development of smart grid.The power line channel,as the transmission medium,is the basis of PLC.Therefore,this paper firstly studies the modeling method of PLC channel,and cooperates with the State Grid Corporation to conduct a channel measurement of the typical medium and low voltage distribution network in China.Finally,two different modeling methods are used to established two channel models,one is medium voltage(MV)MIMO channel and the other is low voltage(LV)SISO channel.The follow-up research work is carried out based on the two study cases.In the scenario of LV SISO channel,this paper designs and implements a turbo decoder compatible with IEEE1901 standard.A turbo decoder with double-bit and tail-biting structure is customized for the Turbo code with a special coding structure in the standard.After simulation verification,the custom decoding algorithm achieved better performance than traditional algorithms.In the scenario of MV MIMO channel,this paper combines IEEE standard for broadband over power line networks and MIMO related wireless communication to design a comprehensive MIMO-OFDM transmission link.The MATLAB simulation results verifies the high performance of the designed system.
