The Investigation And Research Of Community Commercial In Shanghai

China is in the high-speed progress of urbanization, we have a great achievement in construction of houses, but, there are lots of problems in many aspects of our society. The contradiction between the slowly-development of community commercial and the increasing needs of people is one of the problems. Especially, the problem becomes more serious when the market economy is established. Community commercial has effects on communications between neighborhoods of urban communities and the energy of urban communities. It's the must choice of building sustainable urban neighborhood to develop community commercial. In our country the study of community commercial is only happened in the field of economics for a long time. But in fact, the space structure of the community has important effects on the community commercial.Gated Communities is the most popular model of residential planning in China, The space structure of Gated Communities is one of the causes that makes the less-development of community commercial. This paper takes communities in Shanghai as the cases of study. First of all, the paper studied some cases of worker's villages and Gated Communities in Shanghai. Combining relevant theories and practices at home and abroad, the paper analyzed the interrelations between the community commercial and the space structure of communities in Shanghai. Then the paper makes the conclusion that the community space in Shanghai has some problems with the space openness, continuity and mixture.Secondly, the paper suggests developing communities with streets in Shanghai in stead of Gated Communities. Also, the paper carries out three principles and six strategies for the development of them which give us some advices on the new ways and possibilities for the development of community in China.At the last, the paper analyses four cases specially to testify the paper's main ideas and to introduce some examples on communities with streets.
