Searching For The Lost Space

This thesis is the research work about the environment of campus outer space. With phenomenological research method and place theory adopted, the environment and people's spatial experience in living world are investigated.Firstly the thesis points out the"space lost"environmental crisis in current upsurge of campus construction, which actually endangers the meaning of campus place. Then the theoretical frame of phenomenology and architecture phenomenology (mainly the place theory) is built in order to analyze the situation above and do theoretical research on campus planning and design. After looking back the development of Chinese and western campus, the thesis emphatically analyzes the change of its spatial forms and place characteristics in different times.
