The Study Of Urban Plazas Usage Condition And Influende Factors In GuiYang City

Along with the economic of rapid development in China, the living level has improved. The people have more recreational times, especially for retire person, they have the very strong social interaction demand. City public space, especially for city plazas, not only can satisfy human needs who live surrounding but also acts an important role in the social life of cities. The research problem is based on the fact that many city plazas in China lack of consideration of the person's behavior, psychology and the relation between of human and surroundings in public plaza design. These plazas provide uncomfortable conditions for user enjoyment and satisfaction. They can't be taken full advantage of by citizen. So, how to make a great city plazas more satisfy people needs is a important issue. Three city plazas located in GuiYang city are investigated carefully in this research based on human behavior and psychology. The methodology used in this research consisted of interviewing users of both plazas and making observations of plaza use and physical characteristics. The research shows setting, environments comfort, accessibility, security and activities are the most important factors which affect use status of city public plazas. As a result, design implications and strategies are given from two aspects of the whole construction and design, Recommendations were mainly focused on the city plazas of the increase quantity, reasonable distribute, the formation network, improving space, strengthen the dynamic design etc.
