| Zhujiajiao is a typical ancient water town in the south of the Yangtze River,located in west Shanghai. With the development of economy and society, the substance, function and structure of waterfront residential area in old-town of Zhujiajiao are out of date seriously, and even they cannot meet people's living demands in the new era. However the newly-built waterfront residential area just put their emphasis on the basic living demand. Neither were it paid attention to combination of the space structure, nor the discovery and continuation of traditional residential culture, which eventually resulted in the losing of the Jiangnan cultural characteristics. Therefore lots of problems and contradictions are being existed. By selecting the development of waterfront residential district and exploitation of inhabitable town in Zhujiajiao as the study object, the author discusses the history and present condition of evolution in substance space and feature of Jiangnan waterfront residential area. Meanwhile, the construction and development of Zhujaijiao waterfront residential areas nowadays are being surveyed and analyzed in the thesis. And then after summarizing the practice experience, the author puts forward some advice and proposals for the future planning and constructive development. The thesis consists of six chapters in which Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 are the main parts.First chapter. Starting with the study background and the available results of former research, the first chapter presents the topic and introduces the contents of the thesis.Second chapter. In second chapter, the author focuses on the relative theory and practice about construction of waterfront residential area in western countries, and also the history and actualities of such construction in China.Third chapter. After the introduction of the history, cultural tradition, style and feature of water town Zhujiajiao, by analyzing the construction development of waterfront residential area there since 1949, the third chapter points out the problems and contradictions existed now, followed by the significance of the settlement of these problems and contradictions.Forth chapter. According to the influence on style and feature and residential culture of the town caused by several factors which include waterfront residential area planning, landing-using, residential density, space designing, and residents'selecting mode of transports, based on the explanation of some problems about constructing... |
