With the continued reformation of electric market that power producers are split from grid companies, and are supplying the grid at prices the bid, the difference between maximum and minimum of load in power grid is grow greater, the urgent task for thermal power plant is to improve i ts economy and reduce its costs under the situation of competitive power marke. So, it has great engineering value to research the load optimal dispatching in thermal power plant.This thesis summarizes the studies for the load dispatch in thermal power plant. Firstly, the coal consumption is selected as the objective function of the model. And the influence factor of coal consumption was analysised by theory and the act date. Aimming at the shortage of the fixed curve of coal consumption in power plant, different unit running modes was marked off. Then, the different cycle water's temperature of curve of coal consumption on normal running mode in power plant was got by date mining from the real-time supervise system and on-line performance calculation, which is one mode of supervisory information system(SIS). Then, the curve of coal consumption on particular running mode was gained by theory analysis on the base of the normal runnig mode. Finally, the methed to update the unit coal consumption is put forward and mathematics model was set.Based on analyzing many optimization methods, the theories and application of equal incremental growth, dynamic program and genetic algorithm in the studies on optimizing load assignment are expounded, and the results are contrasted. Under the direction of component model theory, the system develops the software for optimizing dispatching based on unit's on-line performance. The system can update the curve of coal consumption under different running mode and alter the coal of consumption according to the unit's on-line performance. It proved that the research has better accuracy and better feasibleness. Besides, the research can bring obvious economic profit to thermal power plant. It has expansive foreground of application. Finally, this thesis raises some questions need to be resolved and gives some opinions.
