With the deepening of the power industry reformation, the process of the electric power marketization is gradually speeding up. In recent years, the working pattern of power generation is transforming to a new competitive pattern that is setting up a competition between all of power plants. Power production has a number of new problems, such as coal prices rose, making the power generation business losses year after year. In the electric power market reformation, considering the demand of power plants, the use of dynamic programming for load economic dispat ch has been researched and analyzed, and the Qujing power plant load economic dispatch system has been authenticated .Fitting a curve that represents coal consumption and power relationship is the first thing to be determined. According to characteristics of SDIC Yunnan Qujing Power Plant load dispatch system, least squares fitting method is used to fit the whole plant coal consumption performance curve. In the research of algorithm, the Equal Incremental method have special restrictions on the coal supply curve of the quadratic coefficient, therefore, the dynamic programming method has been slected to be the algorithm of the load economic dispatch, which has less demand on the coal consumption curve; Then, build the model which target is to get the least amount of the total coal consumption.After economic dispatch, conclusion is obtained that : dynamic programming is an efficient algorithm in finding optimum solutions. The results show that dynamic programming can optimize the operation of the plant unit to some extent, so that better performance of the unit with higher load, poor performance of the unit with a low load, thus ensuring the whole plant unit operation is economic.At the same time, the detail of the Qujing power plant load economic dispatch system is described in this paper, and the system is the application platform to achieve real-time load dispatch . The overall planning and design of the Qujing power plant load dispatch system, the hardware, software, data acquisition of the system, etc. are described in the paper, the main screen of control and operation, the specific methods of operation and the function to be achieved are introduced. It is pointed out that the system will be a win-win system for power saving operation.
