The Working Procedure Of Simultaneous Construction Of Pier And Beam Applied In Straddled-type Monorail Engineering

As an important way to solve the metropolitan public transportation worldwide, urban metro transportation has become the crucial direction of urban development in China. According to its own urban features, Chongqing Municipality has initially introduced the straddled-type monorail technology in the light rail construction and finished the first stage of Line Jiaoxin. Being the director of the construction unit who is in charge of the rail and bridge project in the first stage as well as the project technology in the second stage, I have experienced the entire process ranging from technology introduction, technology acceptance to technology improvement. Based on the practice on project management for several years, this thesis is a systematical and overall reserch on the management method of simultaneous construction of pier and beam initially used in the light rail construction in Chongqing Municipality.Comparing with the common wheel-rail transportation, the straddle-type monorail transportation has its remarkable features and advantages. And the structure of the incorporation of beam and rail has determined the high precision in construction requirements. In order to reach the high precision, the construction module"construction of beam after pier", with a disadvantage of long construction term, has been adopted in many foreign projects for decades. However, for realizing the goal of being open to traffic in 2004, the light rail in Chongqing Municipality has initially adopted and successfully applied the management module of"simultaneous construction of pier and beam"in terms of project management which not only magnificently shortened the construction term but also guaranteed the construction quality.By listing practical examples, this thesis mainly introduces the composition of the monorail's rails and bridges, the organization of the"simultaneous construction of pier and beam"and its responsibilities, chief management contents, main management measures and management procedure.
