The road in city is the core of city landscape. As the first constitution element of city space, road is not only the material skeleton of city but also the process space of city life. It's the main medium through which people feel about the city. From the meaning of function, road is the skeleton of the city. The network configuration of city road determines city's form and structure. The total capacity of city road determines city's circulation gross of people, material and information. So, city road acts as key function in the city. With the improving of people's living standard, city landscape environment that could meets up people's needs in aesthetics is more and more valued.This thesis constitutes of five chapters. The first chapter is preface, which illustrates this research's background, object, content, meaning, method and research frame. The second chapter research on the main genes that affect roads in Changsha bases on present condition, which includes environment, location and culture genes. The third chapter is the main part of this thesis. It analyzes Changsha's present road landscape environment on the whole from the aspect of constitution, which mainly includes road landscape environment's natural, road, construction and other human elements, and activity, transformation elements.On the basis of understanding and reference of road landscape environment evaluation method both here and abroad, this thesis comes up with comparatively comprehensive Changsha road landscape evaluation system for the first time, which could be used for the evaluation of design and construction effect of Changsha road landscape henceforth. This chapter also validated the evaluation system in the newly finished Fenglin Road.
