Multi-position underwater passive sonar locating is the essential part of the system of detecting and oversight ocean environment, especially improving the ability of detecting targets. In the research of multi-position passive sonar locating, every passive sonar probability error parameter is alike between BOA locating and TOA. We propose a method in processing Multi-position passive sonar data with Virtual instrumentation technology.In the thesis, the present state of the passive sonar's locating algorithm is principally explained firstly. The purpose and contents are also explained, in order to be understood the orientation algorithm is more clearly and easily for us. Secondly, the different ocean environment noise and target noise are simulated and also analyzed the essence of target noise signal by Mat lab program language. The signals of the passive sonar received targets noise signal and ocean environment signal are processing by DOA and TOA. Through the signals, the motion parameter of the target is solved by computer program, which are calculated from the spectrum of the signals. Therefore, the target is can be locating and classified. Then, by building the simulation model of multi-position passive sonar locating, the diagram of the software is established. Finally, the simulation software of passive sonar locating is established by using the Visual C++ software. The simulation software of passive sonar locating can not only creates the simulated data of the passive sonar received signal, but also deals with the simulated data whose result can be visually display.
