| Considering the difficulties of the interoperability between intelligent electronic devices (IED) from different manufacturers in substation automation system (SAS) and of system integration, International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) constituted the IEC61850 series of standards about communication networks and systems in substations. The purpose of the standard is interoperability of IEDs from different vendors and seamless integration. The seamless communication of power system is based on the IEC61850 Standard in the future. How to grasp and practice the standard in soon has becoming a research focus now.China has decided to adopt the same standards IEC61850, however, the corresponding Chinese version standards have not been published complete., The people have different views on standards understanding because standards are complex and the lack of experience can learn from in the realization of interoperability.
