The Research On The Schism And Corporation Between The Architect And The Civil Engineer

The industrial revolution in the 18th century has brought out great changes to the world. In the field of building, the technology and art in the architecture has been separated. The civil engineer has apart from the architect. This paper takes engineer who represents technology and architect who represents art as the research object, through their ideas of designs and analysis of works to discuss the phenomenon that the schism and corporation between the architect and the engineer.In Chapter 1, the author puts forward the above topic. In Chapter 2, take the representative architects and engineers as examples, the appearance of the schism between the civil engineer and the architect has been discussed. In Chapter 3, the author does research on industrialization time's condition: civil engineer evolves into the design process to be responsible for realizing the architect's ideas; civil engineer is at the auxiliary position in the architectural design. In Chapter 4, the author conducts research in the post-industry time, Hi-Tech architects appeared to the history stage, they all have knowledge of Architecture and Engineering, they sought new forms from aspects of structure, equipment, material. Hi-Tech architects also founded new ball game with perfect cooperation between they and civil engineer, thus presented a new tendency that corporation had been taken place between the architect and the engineer.China earliest architects appeared in the beginning of 20th century, the architect's education has the quite obvious tendency of engineering courses, the difference between architect and engineer is not quite huge. But from the 1980s, China architecture education system has obtained vigorous development, the architecture specialty has been set up in many colleges and universities, a scientific discipline of assessment has been established. But the architect and engineer's cooperation still was not satisfied. Through investigations and studies, this paper attempts to carries on analysis to the present situation, suggestions was put forward to reform of corporations between architects and civil engineers from aspects of architecture education, technology research, office system, etc.
