The architectural movement of modernism in the last century is almost the strongest revolution in the history. The movement from Europe spreads to America and Asia. Japan is one of Asian countries who achieve great success in the movement. According to the architectural industry of China, it is important for us to study the Japanese architect development. This thesis focuses on the architects who were born in the 1950s and 1960s. They are divided into two groups by the year of their birth. In Japan, the teacher-student relationships of generation of architects are very clear. So it is rationally to divide them into 1950s and 1960s. This thesis begins at the Anbao political struggle in the 1960s, and analyses the metabolism. Then the thesis analyses the status of Japanese architect now times through the development of economy and the effect of metabolism.A group of architects born in 1950 gestate in the bubble economy of 1980s. Their growth goes with post- modernism. Most of them show themselves in the 1990s. Comparative to their fathers, they cast off shackles and grasp the character of architectures. They are called generation of bubble. The bubble breaks in the 1990s. The economy stagnates and large-scale public architectures and basic constructions are cut off. It is a hard test to architects born in 1960s. As the unique growth environments, their contrails of action are unique too. Their action areas are very wide and do not limit in architect design itself. They show great ardor in the video and media relatively to the digital science. They are called Super Flat generation.
