To realize gear standard, series ,currency and imorove design quality, we design a gear precision CAD system with the Computer Aided Desigen method and Artificial Itelligent technology. Because the traditional gear precision analysis and design work is not only time-cost ,but also is hard to acquire the precision and quality.Given the initial considerations of gear ,according to the expert knowledge of the expert system in a CAD system,on the one hand ,transmission error ,.rotation axle location error ,cut error are inquired and they are made as feed back information, in order to improve gear processing precision ,on the other hand ,the precision grades of gear tolerance items and gear examination item can be obtained intelligently, finally the checking target of each tolerance items can be chosen automatically .geometrical tolerance, sizetolerance and surface roughness tolerance are inquired and drew. We design a gear precision CAD system that is provided original function yet,i.e.the working graph designed can be modified under AutoCAD2000. Finally, according to the requirement of the users, suitable details are filled in in dialogue frame. The satisfactory precision design results and the working graph can be obtained automatically. With a friendly interface and independence ,the system is easy to be operated. The system provides an efficient and reliable way for gear precision .It adopts units technoligy and acquire favourable effects,in addition the system is enlarged according to the requirement of the users. Its construction is reasonable, function is perfect and intelligence degree is high ,and the system has independent creation and practical application.lt has certain function in the developing and application of Computer Aided Desigen.
