Rocular flume is ideal experiment device to research fine grain sediment movement. But its popular application is restricted for the traditional sediment-sampling measurement method. This paper aims to change the traditional sediment measurement method, researches the completely open real-time online sediment measurement device which can measure the vertical suspended sediment of the flume water sampling in the natural flow pattern. The main topics are as followings:Firstly, the relation of sediment concentration and light intensity is analyzed theoretically. The infrared backward dispersion method is used to measure the sediment concentration under the completely open circumstance. The influence of back light, air bubbles and organic matter is avoided by using the light source modulated method and typical optics design. The permanent flow method in the transmitting circuit is used to make the light intensity unchanged and guarantee electric current in the luminotron not influenced by temperature, double-core shield line in the infrared luminotron and photosensitive diode is used to weaken the sediment signalsSecondly, Several unusual method is used in the paper, such as: signal opsonic circuit is added in photo signal to increase, filter, demodulate signals, and the signals is adjusted to the standard voltage output (0-5V); This method is combined with the soft program to filter the noise by the greatest extent, increase the Signal-to-Noise, guarantee the reality and validity of the measurement signals effectively.Finally, this paper uses the systemic flexible design idea .takes the AT89S52 singlechip as the core parts of collection parts, takes MAX197as A/D collection parts, designs relatively independent singlechip data collection subsystem. Wireless transmission is used for the typical working manner of the rocular flume. Advanced transparent interface modem module is used to simplify the periphery circuit and program design; The PC data analyzing soft program, which is designed to control the system, demarcates the device and analyze the data, dramatically reduces the volume of work, raises experiment efficiency.
