Tank Driving Training Simulator (TDTS) is a kind of equipment could replace real vehicles for driver training. Compared with the traditional training method, TDTS could be used to substitute real vehicles for approximately 50% of the training time, and wouldn't be restricted by exoteric conditions such as weather, space and time. Furthermore, TDTS's power economization, safety, inexpensive, repetition, high efficiency and short training cycle are also its other prominent advantages. So it is widely used all of world especially in army. The researched facility in this paper is one of the vital tank driving training equipment for armored forces, and it has great significance in raising the basic driving level, shortening the training time and reducing the wastage of real vehicles.This paper introduces hardware structure and working principle of a TDTS, and especial recommends the model of the simulating system. According to the performance requirements of simulator and combining the position of cockpit of real vehicles, we design the cockpit of the driving simulator. All of the driving seats, observation apparatus, relative location of the operation, feeling of operating power, trip and various meters, switches are similar with real vehicles. According the need of driving information collection, we choose the sensors which are suitable for the driving simulator, fixing and debugging them for real vehicles. The control system is the center of driving simulator, According the characters of working and moving, we adopt the control project which use 51 series SCM (Single Chip Micyoco) that based on the PC as the core, and fixing and debugging with characters of sensors.As the core of simulator, this paper use VC++6.0 as a platform, based on the structure of certain tank simulating and calculating the part of engine, the gearing and moving device. This paper used the dynamics and kinematics methods to analyze the press of the tank., and educe its kinetic equation, then simulated the tank driving. According the acceleration obtained from analysis of force, the speed of former state and the engine rotational speed, we educe the engine rotational speed, the tank's speed, the change of position and orientation by using the kinetic equation. The data will be sent to the graphics program, then driving the scene changed, thus simulating the movement of tank driving simulator.This paper combines many mature theories and practical application closely. It refers the kinematics and dynamics analysis of tank, the theory and methods of modeling, the theory of automation, the application of the computer system, the application of multimedia, the software engineering, systems engineering and the technology of multi-sensor amalgamation. The prototype has stability performance, well-functioning, smooth graphics images, and now has entered batch-manufacturing stage.
