Virtual reality technology is the new popularity of high-tech, this technique is used to generate a virtual three-dimensional space which is similar to reality with computer simulation. It provides users with auditory, vision and touch and other sensory experience, which enables the user to be just like being in. With the continuous development of virtual reality technology, This technology began to be applied to various fields, for example:aerospace, manufacturing, education, entertainment, etc. Driving simulator is an important application of virtual reality technology, the aircraft driving simulator made an outstanding contribution for the military among the driving simulator. The helicopter driving simulator of this paper is an aircraft driving simulator.The development of driving simulator has an important research significance: First, it reduces the cost of training drivers, and improves the security of the train driver at the same time; Second, it enhances visual simulation teaching and repeatability. In this paper, I developed a helicopter driving simulator based on virtual reality technology.This paper studies completed as follows:1. Creating a dynamic model of the helicopter. Firstly deal helicopter model with stress analysis and stress simplify, draw a whole stress analysis diagram of helicopter. Assume the helicopter environment and establish the body coordinate and the ground coordinate of helicopter. Establish coordinate transformation between the ground coordinate and the body coordinate by Cartan angle. Assuming the small displacement of the key position, this paper establish helicopter dynamics equation by Lagrange dynamics equation. Finally, the paper solve the equation by the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method.2. The paper established terrain and helicopter model by MultiGen Creator. Terrain modeling process used LOD, Billboard and other technologies. Among the process of creating helicopter model, the paper increased the local degrees of freedom for the helicopter model.3. The paper developed visual system of helicopter driving simulator by using Vega Prime. Tne paper used multi-channel technology to display multiple images simultaneously. You can observe the position and attitude of the helicopter from multiple viewpoints in the simulation environment. The paper added the helicopter collision detection, which makes the helicopter not fall to the ground and go through the buildings. This simulation established a variety of environment scenes, Like rain, snow, cloudy, sunny, etc. The simulation system also simulate the process from sunrise to sunset.Simulation results of helicopter simulator of this article are true at the picture, which has a strong sense of immersion and this helicopter simulator can meet a variety of helicopter flight attitude, such as yaw, rolling.The value of helicopter simulator of this paper reflected in the two points:First, Vega Prime is modular, so its portability is strong. These modules extend the user interface, and provide a library of functions for application development. Secondly, the helicopter simulator of this paper can be used as the base of researching driving simulator, and you can continue in-depeh study.
