There is an important problem in china electrical power grid that is the lack ofreactive power capacity and unreasonable of the configuration of reactive powercompensation, especially the fast adjustable reactive power source. With thedevelopment of industrial level, customers become stricter with the power quality. Thereactive load, especially the impulsive reactive load, not only increases power loss, butalso deteriorates the power quality of customers seriously, so immediate reactive powercompensation is a powerful means of optimizing power flow on transmission networksas well as enhancing power quality.The detailed analysis is implemented of 100Mvar SVC at Anshan HongqibaoSubstation in this paper. The technology of SVC can reduce the fluctuation of gridvoltage and improve the power quality with appropriate control strategy. The operationresults show that the reduction of power loss and improvement of stability with SVC. |
