City Updating And City Re-development

Since the world has city, city updating isalways as a self-regulated mechanism existing in the city development.The study takes west city Guiyang centre district as example, on the basis ofcombing the present state in Guiyang city construction, it analyzes the existingproblems and contradictions in course of centre district updating. Following theprincipals of overall planning, the study pats forward the planning purpose andplanning instruction, which much benefit the development of centre district updating.Also, the study make an emphasis on balancing and harmonizing the city functions sothat the overall goal can be realized smoothly. Finally, the study make aconsiderations with a new trend of social economic development and embodies aspirit of "comfortable standard of living" from various angles such as the city space,capacity and environment.Beginning form the early study on Guiyang CBD, the paper discusses how topromote the city updating in Guiyang CBD, and also puts forword s constructivemode call "compact type". In this paper, it advocates that Guiyang CBD should takethis type as main mode, which would enhance the ability of city sustainabledevelopment. In a long term, "compact type" would remain more land, space andenvironment resources to our descendents and also assure CBD keep on a sustainabledevelopment direction.
