From "Fan City" To "Compact City"

The process of urban space development records the long-term urban construction experience,implies the internal regularity,reflecting the effect of external society and system.The stage-based evolution process is not unrelated to the development stage of the city itself and such factors of the era as politics,economy,society and technology.since 2010,the economic structure of our country needs to be transformed,while the course development mode in the urban construction which also resulted in many social contradictions needs to be regulated.The future ideal mode and implementation measures for urban space construction have become the key points concerned by all circles’"Fan City" refers to the classical single-center three-wings stretching morphology in the progress of Hefei space development which is the middle city in the geographical location.The paper takes the space development process as the main clue,and uses element analysis,literature analysis,contrast analysis,and other methods to research the process of urban classical "Fan" morphology evolution and disappearing.Additionally,the paper concludes the characteristics of urban space and morphology development of different stages mainly from the aspects of macro urban external outline and distribution and evolution of mid-micro urban internal land to deeply analyze the laws and development mechanism."Compact City" refers to the urban future space outlook put forward in the reflection by the thesis aiming at the disorder morphology of current space violent development of Hefei city.The paper combines the development trend of regional economy and population structure to investigate the possibility of practice of "Compact City" under the background of Chinese special urbanization,so as to put forward the direction of future Hefei morphology development.And the thesis puts forward the suggestions and operatable measures specifically from the three aspects of urban overall space morphology,urban internal space morphology and development mechanism.Main research findings are described as below:1.The paper analyzes the construction ways of“compact" space morphology on the basis of“compact cities”theory in combination of relative excellent urban planing cases,and concludes space morphology modes of“compact cities”in the three respects of urban planing,urban design and architecture design.Additionally the paper analyzes the differences of actual urban background and theoretical background,and selectively investigates the theoretical localization and practical feasibility.2.The author divided the evolution stages of Hefei’ s urban spatial development.With population and economic growth as main bases and with reference to the scale indexes of the establish region,the author divided the evolution of Hefei’ s urban spatial development into four stages:expansion growth period(1949-1989);rapid growth period(1990-1999);high-speed growth period(2000-2009);and optimized restructuring period(2010-now)in a true and scientific manner through systematic analysis on several indexes such as population in previous years since liberation of Hefei,GDP,growth of the area of the established region,urban external morphology and critical historical events.3.The paper concludes social political background,economic basis and current construction situation of urban development of various stages,compares vertically in the three respects of urban growth ways,outline and inner morphology,especially the paper detailedly and comprehensively analyzes the change characteristics of land distribution and specific land space morphology with time as coordinate and in combination of specific data analysis and photo information after decomposition of various kinds of urban lands in the internal urban space morphology,so that the tracks and characteristics of various stages of urban space morphology evolution are clearly figured out.4.The paper focuses on multidisciplinary analysis in the respect of interdisciplinary study of urban planing theory,urban sociology,urban economics and urban geography to concern about interpretative research on urban space morphology.And the paper concludes driving factors and power mechanism dominant in urban space morphology evolution of Hefei from the four respects of theoretic guidance,industrial development,economic systems and government decisions in combination of series of policies and regulations and laws formulated in regard to economic development and urban construction of China.5.The paper analyzes the main problems in the optimization and adjustment period of Hefei,and especially analyzes urban backgrounds such as social economic transition,population urbanization conversion and urban adjustment of regionalism in the stage.Then the paper particularly analyzes the actual problems and puts forward the solution---constructing“compact" urban space morphology in combination of its urban specificity on the basis of current situation of urban space morphology.In a word,the paper takes Hefei as example,and focuses on research on the construction process of stage morphology for urban "Fan City”,deconstruction process of "Fan" morphology in the progress of rapid urbanization,and how to guide with theory of "Compact City" in the transformation period to respond to a series of environmental and social problems resulted from sharp expansion of urban space and disorder development of urban morphology.Furthermore the thesis concludes laws and experiences from the process of urban space development completed,and puts forward constructive outlook and suggestions about future urban space.Furthermore,the paper enriches the cases of urban space morphology research to some extent,the results not only is in favor of guidance of future urban planing and development of Hefei,but also provides certain experience and reference for space planing of other cities of the same types.
