This thesis presents the analysis of engineering property of soft clay fromHuanghua Port, comparison with soft clay from Tianjin Port and application of twoways to improve soft foundation.Based on engineering geological datum from construction for eleven years, suchfeatures as genesis, particle fraction, classification of plastic chart, structure,distribution, stress history, vane-shear test strength Cu and evolvement trend ofdiversified physical and mechanical index with depth of soft clay from Huanghua Portare be described by geological analysis and mathematical statistics. The curves of τvs.p and e vs. p are plotted herein. By synthetic study, the standard value of shearstrength index, strength gaining formula, simplified equation for settlement estimate,correlations among physical indexes, physical and mechanical indexes are also givenin the thesis.Compared with soft clays, the result is shown that the engineering property ofsoft clay from Huanghua Port is superior to Tianjin. Otherwise, these soft soils havethe same basal attribution. Therefore, various favorable experiences in soft foundationimprovement from Tianjin port can be adopted in Huanghua. In particular, theapplication of two subsoil treatment approaches of vacuum dewatering consolidationand soil-cement processing to soft soil from Huanghua is demonstrated by treatmenteffect analysis. |
