Under the increasing global competition within the field of manufacturing in the big environment, more and more engineering designer are aware of the importance of the facility layout in the manufacturing system. With the diversification of commodity, varieties, single piece and small batch product of system is more and more greatly, so this paper takes the medium-sized enterprise as the main investigation subject to make the research about the facility layout and optimal model of manufacture system. Firstly, a summary of the background and the orientation of our research, the correlative theory of facility layout problem in manufacturing system and the methods of solution are presented. Second, aiming at the characteristic of medium-sized corporation, making the analysis of logistical systems, the facility layout problem of manufacture system has been discussed. We can work out the frame of layout design. Thirdly, according to the old programming model, a multi-objective fussy nonlinear programming model that can reflect the real condition of layout is set up. Because layout design is a complex combinational optimal problem, the Genetic Algorithm is introduced and used to solve this model. Results indicate that this algorithm can provide reasonable solutions. Finally, taking the result of research into practice and analyzing the case.
