Somesthetic-sense And Environmental Design Of Urban Public Space

Human are living in the dynamic environment with multi-sense experience. The multi-sense always spreads each aspect of the life, and somesthetic-sense also include among them. Moreover, the human knowledge could continuously the transmission and the accumulation for depended on the somesthetic-sense. This paper focuses on the environmental design of the public space. The somesthetic-sense displays the important affects in the relations of person and environment. It is necessity to pay attention to somesthetic-sense of people in design. The concrete case can explain this problem clearly. Firstly, this paper has proved the essentiality of somesthetic-sense from some environment of public space in Wuhan, where we investigated conditions about people's actual usages. So that considering the user's demand on somesthetic-sense is really helpful. Moreover, the theoretics also confirmed the somesthetic-sense in the environment. Design the noticeable function about the psychology, physiology, the study of environment and behavior and etc. Secondly, aiming at the problems of neglecting somesthetic-sense in urban public space environment, the paper proposes some exploratory countermeasures and the measure from the satisfies user's need angle. In brief, it is significant to design environment in terms of somesthetic-sense.
