The thesis focused on waterside area in city.Based on the theory of Urban Planning,Urban Design,Urban Economics,Urban Marketing, Urban Sociology and Landscape Ecology,and through the way of literature study,research and investigation, comparative study,and logic study,the thesis reviewed and analysed the history of development of the waterside area in city and tried to find some problems and lessons.The thesis suggested that we develop the waterside area with being directed by the thinking of urban marketing and with the object of maximizing the comprehensive advantage of the waterside area in city.Through analysis of some examples,it managed to find some disciplines of urban marketing in the waterside area . Then based on the practice in Wuhan and through practical and realistic analysis,it managed to find opportunity and threat of urban marketing in the waterside area in Wuhan.And it suggest some scientific thinking for development to make sure that waterside area in Wuhan was developed in the way of maximizing the comprehensive advantage.Except for abstract , oration and epilogue,the thesis was devided into 5 departments.The first department was the review of development of waterside area in city.lt introduced connotation and extension of the concept of waterside area in city in brief.. It reviewed origin and development of Chinese and foreign waterside area in city.It introduced development of global citie's waterside area and conclude and analyze the problems and lessons in them.Then it led to the object of urban marketing of the waterside area.The second department introduced urban marketing -a new theory and pattern of urban development.This part analyzed the concept of urban marketing through the way of ecnomics and the character and decipline of urban marketing.It introduced the main content of urban marketing in China and pointed out the relation between urban planning and urban marketing,as a base of the connect between waterside area and urban marketing.The third department analyzed urban marketing in waterside area in the way of theory.lt is the emphasis of the thesis.According to the review and introduce before and my own research and understand it brought forward how to realize the object of maximizing the comprehensive advantage of the waterside area in city though th way of urban marketing.It gave some operation patterns and methods from the aspects of plan,finance,public control, ecology and technique innovation of administration and development.The forth department was the analysis of some examples of development of waterside area , using the method of urban marketing.It includes that:development of waterside area in Toledo in USA is the example of marketing in plan and ecology; rebuilding of waterside area in Xiliuwan in Yiyang was example of marketing in culture;planning of waterside area in Baoshan in Shanghai was a example of marketing in public control. Through the analysis of them, the theory in the third department was materialized, as a reference of the fifth department.The fifth department focused on the development of waterside area in Wuhan, as another emphasis of the thesis. Based on the foregoing and the practice in Wuhan.it analyzed the opportunity and threat of Wuhan to make a conclude:found a uniform organization,market oriented development, implement land reserving, centralize on the important nodes,and develop Hanjiang River.lt will not only direct the development of Wuhan ,but also be a reference for other cities.
