The worldwide development of prestressed space steel structures and the engineering reliability have been introduced briefly in this paper. It also discussed the superiority and prospect of prestressed space steel structure. Based on the prestressed tensegrity structure and the grids structure , a new cooperative grids composed of prestressed cables and poles has been suggested. Form this conception, the basic assumption and the model are based, the statics analysis are given, and the influence of geometry non-linear condition on the statics analysis is considered. In addition, the basic concept about engineering reliability and its general analysis methods have been introduced. And this paper has dicussed the based-on –performance design idea which is based on probability , the engineering safety and applicability of steel structure and Monte Carlo method in which engineering reliability is analyzed. Monte Carlo method's basic theory and its realizing process by ANSYS are given. Meanwhile, a example is given to explain how to apply ANSYS to reliability analysis and to show how to decide the availability of results. At last, this paper suggests the direction of further research, such as dynamical feature and responsibility, into cooperative grids structure . this paper is aiming at providing a whole analysis method and realizing process to cooperative grids structure's model ,geometry non-linear statics analysis and reliability estimation which can be helpful to develop and design cooperative grids in real project.
