Structural reliability analysis is a statistical method to measure the structural failureprobability or the probability of safety in considering the random volatility of the structuregeometry, load and boundary conditions in the design, construction, and work. Structuralreliability research is of great significance for the fermentation engineering, biologicalengineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, structural engineering,aerospace, marine shipping and other fields.In this paper, it uses a typical steel silos of practical engineering structure as theresearch object, applying Monte Carlo method and the Response Surface method to studythe structural reliability, by application of the ANSYS numerical calculation results. First,it build the three-dimensional structure model with structure material load, wind load, thetop pressure and bulk gravity for static analysis to extract the maximum Mises-stress ofthe structure.Then, analysis the structural reliability by the application of Monte Carlo method. Itcalculate the probability of structural reliability and the correlation coefficient of themaximum Mises-stress of the structure about each input parameter by making themaximum Mises-stress of structure steel silos as the important reference indicators, thebulk material density, structural materials yield stress and the geometric parameters ofhigher stress parts as input random parameters, defining the corresponding randomdistribution function and its parameters, and selecting5000samples for structuralreliability analysis. In particular, making the steel thickness tolerance range fluctuations ofrandom variables, Building the stress response function about each structural steel platethickness on parameters, and respectively, making each of the shell plate thickness asindependent variables, analysis the sensitivities of each plate thickness to max-stress. According to the design stress limits method, find the steel thickness of structure forcritical failure. According to the thickness tolerances of steel, makes structural failure ofthe plate thickness as value targets, obtained the probability of structural reliability. Last,obtained the overall reliability of structure of the silo structure in each case based on thereliability of probability.Finally, analysis the structural reliability by the application of Response Surfacemethod. In the same way, build the limit state function of structures, strike structuralreliability indicators and assess the structural safety performance by making the platethickness of higher stress parts in structures as the basic parameters.
