Research On Vehicle Handling Stability Based On Virtual Reality And Virtual Prototype

At the present time, the shortage of driver model being difficult to build, data processing being abstract, prototype development cost-push exists in the simulation of vehicle performance. With the development of virtual reality and virtual prototype technology, the vehicle virtual experiment system is put forward. With virtual environment simulate complicate real environment, in virtual environment, users can control the vehicle and do experiment, experience vehicle performance and acquire the subjective response. Vehicle parameters are modified and the vehicle performance is optimized. Compared to the traditional vehicle experiment, the virtual experiment can be easily repeat and no risk. It has time-saving, cost-cutting and quality-improving advantages. In this paper, I carry out discovering research on designing the vehicle handling stability virtual environment and virtual experiment system, the comparison between virtual experiment and real experiment.First, the multi-body dynamics vehicle model using ADAMS/Car software was established, which contains body,suspensions,steering system,tires etc. The simulation and analysis about the vehicle handling stability had been carried out. In order to validate the correctness of dynamics vehicle model, the simulation results were compared with physical experiments. Afterward, a three-dimensional dummy proving ground based on DirectX was established. Then, the simulation data was imported from ADAMS/Car into dummy proving ground. Carrying through dummy experiments that are able to let technician learn the vehicle handling stability by seeing,hearing,feeling.
