The testing technique is indispensable in modern industry. The development of computer techniques results in the appearance and application of virtual testing technique. Meantime, the virtual reality (the abbreviation is VR) technique, which has shown its unexampled advantages in the production and assembly as well as professionals training, is another one rising in the recent years and has become the power advancing the technique revolution. The combination of these two techniques leads to the virtual testing technique based on VR, which has lower cost and wider application in contrast with the traditional one. Moreover, this new technique enables the predictive testing before production and assembly. Therefore, it has been taken into account in the area of manufacture and academe.According to the project of the virtual testing for vehicle ride comfort, the thesis performs the analysis in detail for the requirement in reality on the basis of the theory about virtual modeling and virtual instrument. In addition, it tries the exploration and research for the application of the virtual testing technique based on VR. The five chapters in this paper are as follows:In chapter one, the virtual reality technique and the virtual testing technique are introduced. Then the content and advantages of the virtual testing technique based on VR are discussed and the significance of the research in this area is presented. The main description and the frame of this thesis are given, too.In chapter two, the idea of the application for virtual modeling is indicated. At first, the function of the virtual modeling in virtual testing is explained and advise that the modeling is composed of geometry modeling, kinematics modeling and physics modeling. Then the process of geometry modeling, the plan of kinematics modeling as well as the building and solution of the dynamics equations in physics modeling are described. Finally, the use of the virtual sensor contained by the tested model is shown.In chapter three, the idea of the application for virtual instrument is presented; Meanwhile, the reason why the virtual instrument is applied in the virtual testing based on VR is explained. Then, it is described in detail that the idea includes the parts comprised by virtual instrument, the fundamental of the each part in real system and its digital methods for realization.The fourth chapter is the extension of chapter two and three. On the basis of the idea of application discussed as above, it advises the usual techniques, which indicate the valuable methods of the acceleration for the solution of dynamics equations, the avoidance of the conflicts from inner operations and the problem how to renew the tested curve real-time, for realization of virtual modelings and instruments in the real system considering the project participated in.The last chapter includes the main results and conclusion of this thesis. Furthermore, it indicates the prospect of the further research.
