Research On Digital PD Detector Based On Virtual Instrument

In order to meet the on-site partial discharge measurement need of HBEPRI, a digital PD detector based on VI is developed and applied successfully. The new instrument improved the measurement quality and the fault diagnosis validity of on-site PD inspection. This PD detector is based on virtual instrument, it combines advanced computer technique, powerful and flexible software and blocking hardware. The software in the new PD detector realises the measurement function instead of traditional hardware circuit. The measurement principle of the new PD detector is introduced, and its hardware and software are designed and developed, which realizes the main functions and characteristics of the PD detector. The on-site test results indicate the the typical discharge faults and show the validity of the new PD detector.
