The 3D Carton-Designing System Based On Opengl

The extensive use of carton improves the development of carton design software. 3D-Carton design software replace 2D-Carton design software is inevitable. Generalizing CAD technologies and carton pack CAD technologies especially, we presented a new method on design pack CAD software. This technique is based on the technology of OpenGL. The software named CartonPack that 3D-carton can be transferred to 2D-carton is designed by using it.OpenGL supplies powerful function such as graphic transforming, 3D-mapping and cartoon. The OpenGL techniques related to the CartonPack that included 3D-model-building, lighting, 3D-mapping, cartoon making is stated and their application in CartonPack is analyzed. Firstly, the design features of many kinds of carton and OpenGL solving methods against these features are formulated. Secondly, the frame of CartonPack is formulated and the corresponding classes and templates are designed by object oriented programming technique. Lastly, three function including 3D mapping, 3D&2D disposing and cartoon are implemented on the platform of Visual C++ 6.0. Thus, the pack CAD software-CartonPack is completed.
