The highway main hub is the main infrastructure of our country highway transportation. With the establishment and implement of the highway main hub since 1996, the planning theory and the construction of the highway main hub all have made a great success. Therefore, summing up the success and failure experience of planning and construction of highway main hubs which have carried from the point of view of post-evaluation to valuate the result of planning is essential, which can provide the reference for the highway main hub planning that will soon be adjusted. It's not only can improve the rationality and possibilities of adjustment of highway main hub planning, but also can make a new point of departure of the study of highway main hub planning theory under the new position. From the beginning of analyzing and summarizing the elementary post-evaluation theory of the general item, authors elaborate the characteristics of highway main hub construction , and discusses the meaning of post-evaluation of highway main hub planning and construction, and analyze the differences between highway main hub post-evaluation and general post-evaluation. Post-evaluation theory frame of highway main hub planning and construction is put forward, and its contents, evaluation indexes, evaluation standards and evaluation methods are established, which make the integrated post-evaluation system info of highway main hub planning and construction. This theory and method using in the post—evaluation of the highway main hub planning and construction of Chengdu is proved to be very effectual.
