Study On Spatial Requirements Of Communities Group In Xi’an Under The Model Of "Old-age Care At Home"

Now, China has the world biggest elder population and this number is still risingfast than ever before. The solution to settle the aging population problem, as well as toobtain harmonious society and happiness family, become urgent and imperative.This paper based on the analysis of the development situation of China’s agingpopulation and aged support models, to conclude that the primary aged support modelis “support the aged in the house”. As the spatial carrier of “support the aged in thehouse”, the housing community bears the responsibility for the aged demands likeliving, entertainment and social communication, etc. Thus, favorable communityspatial environment could provide fully protection for the aged to live a happinesslife.How to make community group space design more consistent with the behaviorsand psychological needs of the elderly, is the stated focus of the research on thesubject.In this paper, the author summarized the spatial of housing community theoryand the aged living design theory, and applied different investigation methods likedocument research, questionnaire survey, field research to analysis the typicalcommunities of aging population in Xi’an. After the analysis the statistics of the ageddaily behavior, residence demand and activities demand, this paper sorted thesetypical communities of the aged, and studied the internal housing communityenvironment and usage by the aged, to provide realistic evidence for latter designstrategy. Based on analysis of this project, the author expect to provide some practicalsolutions for the betterment of the convenience and security of aged housingcommunity as well as satisfy their social communication and physiological/mental needs, also this paper could serves as a reference to settle the aging populationproblem and residential problem of our country.
