The intelligent electrical apparatus is the point of research in the world, it mainly uses microprocessor to dispose, restore and compare the collected data so as to achieve the modular protection function. But it hasn't centralized control system for central harmony and remote control. The related articles and productions are scant, especially the communication-capable productions based on DeviceNet. The communication function of intelligent electrical apparatus is the foundation of remote control and a new direction in intelligent electrical apparatus research. From the view of practice, the study is worth researching and applying.The fieldbus, which is an open, digital, bidirectional, multi-station communication system, has been widely used in recent years. The paper introduces its production, development, feature and applied field. DeviceNet, which is sponsored by Rockwell Automation, is a low-cost communications link, most suitable for device-layer communications. At the end of 2002, DeviceNet became China's national standard. The DeviceNet technology in China entered a new era.The paper introduces the network architecture of Rockwell Automation, especially the DeviceNet, analyzes DeviceNet specification. The hardware and software is established. The motor's operation, overload protection, parameters configuration, monitoring can be achieved through the network.
