With the competition of the market, consumptive individuation and thediversification of users' requirements, producing a large variety of products in a littlebatch has become the main characteristic of the workshop production in the modernenterprises. The management of work-in-process in the shop is regarded as the mostimportant part of the ERP system. Its administrant performance has a direct effect onthe whole implement of the ERP system. At present, there are so many enterpriseswhich only pay more attention to giving instructions from the projection layer and butignore the information feedback from the workshop executive layer and whoseworkshops still follow the conventional manual statistic. Aiming at these kinds ofdisadvantages, it is increasingly important that we should improve the flowmanagement in the workshop and execute the ERP system well through applying thebarcode to the work-in-process production management. Aiming at the order-oriented mould manufacture industry for single and a littlebatch production, the idea that applying the barcode to the work-in-processproduction management is brought forward , a system of work-in-process productionmanagement based on barcode is designed, and its main operation process andfunction module are analysed. In the management of work-in-process, and the mainoperation processes are analysed in the work-in-process production managementsystem based on barcode, and then the main function modules of such a set ofmanagement system are designed, and the part production states based on differentgrades are defined and corresponding rules of part machining states, inspecting stateand assembling state are put forward. After carefully researching the workshopquality management-flow and production cost, formulas have been deduced and thedifferences between practice cost and standard cost have been analyzed according tomany real production datum which including personnel, equipment, productionprocess, quality inspection information and etc. It is proved that the system is feasibleby the application of the barcode to work-in-process production management in WuxiGuosheng Mould Manufacturing Company. The system not only enhances thetransparency of workshop task but also supports the production arrangement on thereal datum, so it makes the real closed-loop ERP system to be true.
