The wheel system for automobile engine accessories consist of the compressor, power steering pump , air filter , generator ,etc. which linked by a V-belt or poly_rib belt. Because of Emphasis on energy-conserving, environmental protection and operational flexibility , comfortableness day by day, as the important part of the engine , wheel system have very great influence on the performance of the engine. How to rationally lay out the front accessories in the limit space and the affecting degree of each pulley in special situation on engine will be a concerned question day by day.This article presents the design plan of software and hardware of testbench for optimizing design of the poly_rib driving wheel system in detail. The development of test-bed centres on imitating actual operation of wheel system and changing load size and position of each accessory at the same time. Aiming at these special demand of performance, I have designed the innovative structure of test-bed, including simulation engine gear box, the part of moving guiding tracks, the simulation part of the steering pump, the part of dynamometer simulating compressor as load etc.. Computer is the core of poly_rib belt driving wheel system testbench's hardware, equipped with the interface circuit, signal processing unit and sensor. All those parts constitute a close loop control system to realize the signal collection and process, including the rotate speed and torque of main shaft ,rotate speed and torque of the shaft of compressor, rotate speed and torque of the shaft of the steering pump, systematic noise, systematic vibration frequency, the amplitude of surface of poly_rib belt, the torsion angle and amplitude of damping pulley, bearing temperature of auto tension wheel, etc.. At the same time we can control the load size of each accessories and operation of electrical machinery by the control system.We take Visual C++ 6.0 as development environment, which utilize design philosophy of object oriented programming(OOP) .We developed the entire software by VC++ 6.0 under Windows operating system. It's friendly graphic user interface, flexible operating manner, and powerful data processing function. Clicking 'start test'key-press on control interface, system will read the data in specific port of A/Dcard by run related function of VC++ and realize the data collecting. At the same time, system can send order to specific port of D/A card to control the peripheral equipment. The software will process collected data and show corresponding curve on screen , produce and print the test report. As to different layout of ployrib driving wheel system, compare the important performance parameter in virtue of software, and then confirm which kind of departments are the best design plan. At last we can find out relevant laws of design of poly_rib driving wheel system from it.
