In recent years, the state with tense traffic is aggravated constantly with rapid development of global economy. The vehicle monitoring and dispatching system as the effective way to deal with the traffic problem has been one of the focuses of people.The vehicle monitoring and dispatching system of various communication modes based on the GPS/GIS/GSM designed in this paper is made up of the vehicle unit, wireless communication system and controlling center. This system integrated the GPS(Global Position System), GIS(Geographic Information System), GSM(Global System for Mobile), Graph Theory, the technology of computer network and so on. It has the function of displaying electronic map, the query of spatial data and attribute data, vehicle real-time monitoring and dispatching, the playback of vehicle track, driver information management, the query and maintenance of vehicle information, vehicle alarm processing and so on. It can monitor and manage multi-vehicles remotely effectively. Besides, by using the WebGIS technology, the system also realized the real-time Traffic Information Publishing and Querying Schema with simple operation method in Internet.The wireless transmission system is the key between the control center and the vehicle terminal, is the very important component part of Urban Public Traffic Management System(UPTMS). UPTMS usually chose the GSM wireless transmission system by considering the communication quality, coverage and the communication fare, and realized wireless transmission function by using SMS operation. We adopted Various Communication Modes in this system, used the GSM AT instructions and CMPP by combining Internet and the network of Wireless Transmission to realize the transmitting and receiving of short message service. Besides, We exploited the electronic map of Wuhan city in this system base on the friendly style of mutual dialogue between human and computer.The successful application of the vehicle monitoring and dispatching system of various communication modes based on the GPS/GIS/GSM will consumedly increase the traffic ability of the road and the safety of the operational vehicle, and strengthen the ability of handling accidents. It can help effectively lower the vehicle's empty carrying rate, and improve the operational benefit of the vehicle. |
