With the development of the modern technology and irrigation works, the construction of the reservoir enters a new period. It is known to all, reservoir can meet the needs of each national income department in many aspects, however, it may bring a series of natural and economical disadvantages in the reservoir area and catchment area. The immersion problem is one of the outstanding questions. The research on the reservoir has achieved prominent success, but it also has some shortcomings. On the basis of theory and project practice, the dissertation has done systemic research on the reservoir immersion problem.Considering the different traits between reservoir and other buildings, for examples: the foundation and the base being under water; the working condition being complex; the demand of the geological condition and foundation management being very strict, the dissertation starts with the trait of immersion and then analyses the geological conditions and the influencing factors. Combining with the theoretic knowledge and some practice data of projects, it summaries some areas where immersion may happen or not in general condition.Considering the complexity and variety of the hydrogeological condition, it establishes the seepage calculative formulas of the finite element in various conditions. If the seepage field is simply and the region doesn't belong to primary immersion area, the calculation of the two-dimensional finite element will meet the project needs. But in most conditions, the seepage problems in water project are in large region and of complex geological condition. So the calculation of the three-dimensional finite element is used more popular. It can reflect the magnitude and direction of the hydraulic head and speed in each seepage point well and truly. Under the conditions that there are many relief wells and the ratio of permeable modulus between intense permeable layers and aquicludes is very large, we'd better use the seepage theory of the multiplayer pervious foundation to calculate. The theory assumes that the flow line of the intense permeable layer is basically horizontal and the acquiclude is basically vertical. As doing that, we can change the three-dimensional seepage problem into two-dimensional problem and the question can be simplified. Otherwise, the ascertain of the relevant hydrogeological parameter in immersion calculation, the ascertain of the immersion range, and the defending plans are also discussed in the dissertation.In the end, following the theoretic calculative formulas and the relevant caculative program (2D-Flow program, 3D-flow program, the seepage caculative program of the multiplayer pervious foundation which was exploited by Doctor Cao Hong), the dissertation has calculated the seepage of the reservoir of Chaozhou and got the corresponding map of the hydraulic head line. Combining with the buried depth of the local critical underground water, the dissertation has made the immersion estimate of this area and offered the relevant defending measures of the project. Simultaneously, the applicability and the feasibility of the reservoir immersion theory established in the dissertation, are well proved.
