From Paris Exposition To Miller Garden Space Composition Of Western Modern Landscape Architecture

Space is one of the main contents in modernism movement of western landscapearchitecture.With the effect of modern painting,sculpture and Architecture,space design ways of Beaux-Arts has been changed gradually by modern landscape architecture,which pursued diversification of visual points and overlap and flow of some space.This article analyses the space composition of western modern landscape architecture form 1925 to 1957,and gives a special treatment on some events dramatically effected by modern landscape architecture - Exposition internationale des Arts Decoratifs et industriels Modernes in Paris,Havard Revolution and the Miller Garden ,basing on the projects, articles and special works of Guevrekian,Tunnard,Church,Rose,Kiley,Eckbo who played an important role in the reform of landscape space,and attempts to grasp the characteristic of space composition in this period.
