In the locomotive traction experiment, the sampled signals is transmitted to experiment system by a 32-core cable. In order to saving time for tying cable to carriage and untying cable from carriage, a data sampling and transmitting system using WLAN is presented.Because the distance between the locomotive and the experiment carriage nearly does not change, the wireless communication can be used in data transmitting between them. Also, time for tying or untying cable is not needed too. The industrial control computer is used in this system, A/D and D/A devices are suitably selected too. Besides, 3COM's USB interface wireless network adapters are used for constructing point-to-point communication network. For better system stability, Windows 2000 Professional is selected for OS and National Instruments' CV1 6.0 is used to develop software.This system has a succinct structure and enough function, it can work without manual operation and has a good performance.
