Navigation marks are the basic facilities of the waterways. They will have a direct effect on the navigation safety of vessels. However, the traditional management model of navigation mark is out of date and has some shortcomings so that it can't meet the requirements of high quality safe navigation that are brought up by the busy waterway transportation. Combining the actuality of navigation mark management in inland waterways, the thesis develops an economical and reliable wireless monitoring system of navigation mark used in inland waterways. The system consists of the control center and the monitoring terminal. It can monitor the operational parameters and positioning information automatically, help the waterway administration to get the operational status of navigation mark rapidly and find out the faults in time, improve the reliability of navigation mark, increase the safety of the waterway transportation. The main content of the research includes the computer technology, GSM communication technology, GPS positioning technology, measuring technology and energy source technology used in the system.Based on analyzing the function requirements of the navigation mark monitoring system deeply, the thesis presents the general structure of the system, divides the system into function modules, completes the communication interfaces among the modules. The control center and the monitoring terminal are connected into The Public Mobile Communication Network through GSM modules. After analyzing the PDU data format of GSM short message in detail, the communication programs are designed, such as the encoding and decoding of the Unicode and 7-bit code, the assembling and disassembling of PDU message and so on. Through the serial port, the AT commands are used to control the GSM module to send and receive short messages and dial, which completes the system communication. The GPS Module is selected to collect the position information of navigation mark. Based on a lot of experiments, the statistics law of GPS positioning data is found and the simple multiple digital filter algorithm that suits the single chip microcontroller is adopted to optimize the positioning data. The positioning precision is improved effectively. According to theoptimization result, the vertical scan line algorithm is used to discriminate the position status of navigation mark. At the same time, the parameter monitoring circuit is designed to check the operational parameters of pharos that include voltage of power supply, operational current, based on LM339 voltage comparer, optical sensor and logical circuit. At last, using the visual design tools and TTS technology to develop friendly human-machine interfaces in the Visual basic 6.0 IDE. The visual motion track and position information on the track analysis map of navigation mark will help managers make their decisions effectively. Multiple alarms are also used to send alarm messages to managers rapidly and reliably.The monitoring system can also improve the efficiency of navigation mark management, reduce the maintenance cost of navigation mark, relieve the work intensity of employees, and realize the information sharing of navigation mark.
