The Switched Reluctance Drive possesses have many inherent advantages of adjustable-speed drive and simple structure, it attracts more and more attention and shows competition in commercial application. In this thesis, a 5. 5KW 4-phase switched reluctance motor (with 8 stator and rotor poles) control system is designed and developed.The thesis contains seven sections. In the first section, it offers a system survey of SRD, including operational principle, structure and characteristics of SRM, developing process and trend are also cited. The second section gives the math model of SRM. Many of modes of timing are compared. Introducing Fuzzy-Control design arithmetic of timing, and primary source of noises of the electric machine is analysed. The main matter of the third section is that two traditional power converter main circuit for four phase SRM are analyzed, optimized and synthesized, the paper gives the main circuit of new power converter for four phase SR motor. With the project practice, the paper gives the practical circuit, key component and it' s parameter. The fourth section offers SRM control system design of hardware based on DSP of TI. The control system includes detector circuit, protection circuit, control and man-machine interface circuit, which makes full use of DSP resources for high reliability and simplified the construction of system. The fifth section provides system software design, In order to read and maintain easy, a microprogramming modular is adopted. A new control strategy of Fuzzy voltage PWM combined Fuzzy angle control is realized for improving motor' s working efficiency. At the same time, it simplify control model of SRM, reduce cost. At last, the result of experiment testify it, the electric machine gain success of simultaneous electrify two phase loop, the timing range is 50-2000r/m. In the sixth section, some measures of resisting electromagnetism disturb are reseached and used. Followed by the comclusions and futurejobs in the seventh section.
