Ecological Community And Ecological Resident Buildings

The global environment problems have caused worldwide attention at the beginning of this century. Nowadays, man has been exploding the sustainable development model in all kinds of fields. The science of ecological research brings some new perspective and sets new horizons for architects, so the ecological architecture is the type of architecture suitable for the character of the 21st century. This paper looks back to the evolvements of ecology and the green theory and considers environmental, social and economical elements conditioning ecological architecture.Chapter 1 of this paper discusses the theory and practice of the ideal human-living environment and the evolvements of the natural buildings idea, building on a number of examples. Chapter 2 tries to study the community and single residential building problems in a systemic and ecological way. This chapter also researches the principles and techniques in designing ecological residential buildings. Chapter 3 studies the theory of ecological architecture and briefly presents the idea of construction technology, social psychology, and ecological aesthetics. Basing on the status quo of ecological residential buildings in China, the last chapter examines the factors conditioning the development of ecological architecture and explores its future in China.
